I cover similar experiences in my blog http://chriswhiteonline.org
but your experience is more recent.
I reported on the ACFTU organising of Wal-Mart and their campaign for the new Employment laws.
However, with the capitalist financial crisis, I am interested in whether the thousands of Chinese workers now being made redundaqnt by the corporations are receiving the minimum redundancy pay of one month's pay for each year of service. Is the ACFTU protecting workers under threat?
Is the new conciliation and arbitration system working to protect the workers' rights?
In the past, companies freely flouted these laws, but I was told that the government wants them enforced.
Some more information on the protests would be interesting.
I agree and we all know what a top down union the ACFTU, but there are debates on organising and in some sectors collective bargaining.
I will follow this with interest.
