TUC calls for Government help in halting Vestas factory closure

03 Aug 2009, By

The TUC is calling on wind turbine manufacturer Vestas to halt its closure programme and work with unions, business and the government to preserve the future of the industry in the UK.

Workers at the Isle of White based factory have occupied the site for almost two weeks in protest at the planned closure which would result in the loss of over 600 jobs.

The full TUC statement can be read here.  You can get more information about the campaign and send messages of support via the campaign website – http://savevestas.wordpress.com/
