May Day rally in Hong Kong demands higher minimum wage

Al-Jazeera reported yesterday on the mass demonstration in the only part of China with a free trade union movement: Hong Kong. Trade unions are demanding workers get a bigger share in the enormous wealth of the economy, but – predictably – employers are responding in the same way as ours do, claiming that a higher minimum wage will lead to job losses.
