What does your union mean to you?
More than six million British workers are members of a trade union. Unions help people to get a voice at work, uphold employment rights and fairness in the workplace, and help people access training and professional development. They bargain with employers for better working conditions, and campaign for changes that benefit working people in general, like maternity and paternity leave or the minimum wage.
How has being in a union helped you at work or made a difference in your life? We’d love to hear your experiences and testimonies, and they’ll really help us to get the message to others who might be thinking about joining themselves. We’ll be displaying some of your stories and photos on this site, as well as sharing our favourites on social media.
