Save Steel on Teesside!

08 Dec 2009, By

Community Trade Union is running a campaign to save steel production at the Corus plant on Teesside.  Last week, the plant’s owners – Tata Corus – decided to moth ball the site of Teesside Cast Products placing 1,700 jobs at risk.   the company is one of the areas largest employers.

Community has launched an on-line petition as part of its campaign to save the site.  You can sign it HERE.

The community on Teeside and their future is more important than the profitability of the business. If they won’t keep the plant open then the trades unions should organise an occupation of the plant and demand its nationalisation. Just how much more industry are we going to lose before people wake up?
